Last night I downloaded Shakespeare's entire works to my E-reader. I'm starting with Cymbeline due to the obvious relevance with Liev. I've "done" Halmlet and besides, starting with something fresh is good mojo when climbing a hill this daunting.
There's a moment when you're really enjoying something and you're faced with a dilemma: should I take greedy bites, or should I nibble and savour, with delicious and deliberate pause?
I'm at the part where Iachimo and Posthumus hammer out the rules of their bet. If Imogen responds favourably to Iachimo's advances, Posthumus loses the diamond but his new "friendship" with Iachimo remains intact since according to Posthumus it was no loss; she was not worth it. But if Imogen rebuffs Iachimo, Iachimo loses his gold and must face Posthumus in a duel to the death for attempting to dishonour his woman.
Trying to picture Iachimo (who seems to be a quick study) in full court press mode for Imogen's affections is something I'm going to stretch out for as long as I can.
It's so ON.
